Victorino Fernandes (born February 3, 1989 in Goa) is an Indian footballer who currently plays for Sporting Clube de Goa in the I-League.
Early career
Fernandes started his footballing career at the age of 17 by playing for local amateur side Assolda-Chandor.[1] At the same age Fernandes also joined local I-League side Salgaocar's youth team where he stayed till 2010. He then got suspended by the Goan Football Association after it was found that he attempted to sign for Dempo S.C. while contracted to Sporting Clube de Goa. While suspended Fernandes played for Goa League 1st Division side Santa Cruz before finally signing for Sporting Goa.[2]
Career
Sporting Clube de Goa
In June 2010 Fernendes signed for Sporting Clube de goa who were then in the I-League 2nd Division. After one season Fernandes helped Sporting Goa to promotion to the I-League after Sporting finished as runners-up in the 2011 I-League 2nd Division.
2011–12
Fernandes started the 2011–12 season with Sporting Goa again. This time it was in the 2011–12 I-League. On October 31, 2011, Fernandes scored his first two I-League goals against Shillong Lajong in Sporting's 4–3 victory.[3] He then scored again on November 19, 2011, against Chirag United Club Kerala and then again on November 23, 2011, against Mumbai.[4]
International career
On 19th November 2013, Fernandes made debut for Indian team against Nepal in an International Friendly match at Siliguri, West Bengal.
