Victor Kayode Igbekoi (born 1 September 1986 in Ondo City, Nigeria) is a Nigeria-born naturalized Sierra Leonean footballer, who currently plays for the AZAL PFC in the Azerbaijani Premier League.
Career
Igbekoi began his career with Hearts of Abuja and joined Sunshine Stars F.C. in 2005 and to PFC Turan Tovuz in 2006. He earned in his first season for PFC Turan Tovuz 13 caps in the Azerbaijani Premier League and signed one year later for league rival FK Karabakh.[1] Igbekoi played for Qarabagh in two season 30 games and scored 10 goals, before returned in January 2009 to his first Azerbaijani club PFC Turan Tovuz. He played a half year for his former club PFC Turan Tovuz and joined in summer 2009 to AZAL PFC.[2]
International career
In August 2012, he was called up by Sierra Leone despite not having satisfied the FIFA rules to switch his allegiance from Nigeria.[3] Later, on October 11, Sierra Leone Football Association has confirmed that the player is eligible to play for Leone Stars and make his debout at Africa Cup of Nations final round second leg match against Tunisia[4]
