Vice consul

Vice consul is a diplomatic (consular) rank, lower than that of a Consul and higher than that of a Consular Agent. A Vice Consul is a subordinate officer in a Consular Mission, generally called a Consulate General or a Consulate, authorized to exercise certain consular functions in the circumscription of the respective Consular Mission, in accordance with the instructions of the Head of the Consular Mission.
