Vetri Selvan is an upcoming Indian Tamil film directed by Rudhran featuring Ajmal Ameer and Radhika Apte in the lead roles.[1] This film is about three youth who have been rejected by the society and how they try to reform it.[2]

Cast

Production

Produced on Srushti Cinemas banner which earlier produced Sundar C. starrer Perumal, this movie has singer Mano, Sherrif and Ganja Karuppu in pivotal roles.[3] The original music and background score of the film are composed by Mani Sharma. Cinematography is by Ramesh Kumar, while editing is by Kishore Te.. Director Rudhran earlier worked as an assistant to Vikram Kumar.

During the shooting, Actor Ajmal met with an accident during the shoot of Vetri Selvan. Ajmal and the film’s leading lady Radhika Apte were travelling in an auto on the hills of Ooty as part of the film, when the auto rammed on a median and fell stumbling down on the road. Ajmal was injured in the accident, though not severely. The shoot came to a halt for a couple of hours giving time for Ajmal to recuperate. The director had to find another auto similar to the previous one to continue with the shooting as the initial one was heavily damaged during the accident.[4]

Soundtrack

Music is composed by Mani Sharma collaborating with Ajmal for second time after Thiru Thiru Thuru Thuru (2009). The audio was launched by director Bala on Nov 2, 2012.[5] All songs are written by Madhan Karky. Behindwoods wrote:"all the album feels like vintage Mani Sharma, but somehow that can be a double edge sword as it does have a dated feel amidst the more trendy styles that the audience subscribes to today".[6]
