VesselSat-1

VesselSat-1 is a Miniaturized satellite built by LuxSpace for ORBCOMM. It was launched from the Indian Space Research Organization's Satish Dhawan Space Centre at Sriharikota in October 2011 atop a PSLV-C18 rocket. The launch was a multi-payload mission shared with Megha-Tropiques, SRMSAT and Jugnu.
Vesselsat it the first satellite to be built in Luxembourg. It weighs 28 kg and has for form of a cube 30 cm along a side. Its mission is the tracking of shipping by receiving broadcasts from their Automatic Identification Systems.
