Vesna Lemaić (born 1981) is a Slovene writer. Her debut publication was a collection of short stories Popularne zgodbe (Popular Stories). Since she has also published a novel called Odlagališce (The Dumping Ground) and written a radio play for Radio Slovenija. She founded a project called Anonymous Readers and runs creative writing workshops for children and young people.[1][2]

In 2009 she won Best Debut Novel Award awarded by the Union of Slovenian Publishers and Booksellers for Popularne zgodbe (Popular Stories).[3] In 2010 she won the Fabula Award for best collection of short prose in Slovene published within the previous two years for the same book.[4]
