Velike Bloke is a village in the Municipality of Bloke in the Inner Carniola region of Slovenia.[2]
Name
The name Velike Bloke literally means 'big Bloke' and originally distinguished the settlement from Male Bloke (literally, 'little Bloke'). However, after the parish church was built in Male Bloke, that settlement became known as Fara (literally, 'parish').[2]
Church
The local church in the settlement is dedicated to the Assumption of Mary and belongs to the Parish of Bloke.[3]
