Vavoua Department

Vavoua Department is one of the departments of Côte d'Ivoire in Haut-Sassandra Region.

The center is at Vavoua, located near 7°22′55″N 6°28′40″W / 7.38194°N 6.47778°W / 7.38194; -6.47778. It lies 50 km to the north of Daloa, one of the principal cities of Côte d'Ivoire. Local industries include cocoa, cotton growing, and logging.

Vavoua International School, a Christian missionary boarding school run by WEC International, was situated two kilometres outside the town, adjacent to the small village of Bouitafla, until the recent civil war.
