Variaș is a commune in Timiş County, Romania.
Name
In German, it is known as Warjasch, in Hungarian as Varjas, and in Serbian as Варјаш / Varjaš.
Villages
It is composed of three villages: Gelu (Kétfél; Кетфељ), Sânpetru Mic (Kleinsanktpeter; Kisszentpéter; Мали Семпетар) and Variaș.
Demographics
In 2011, population included:
- Romanians (72.92%)
- Serbs (10.26%)
- Hungarians (8.75%)
- Roma people (4.04%)
- Ukrainians (3.24%)
