Personal life

An Italian American,[2] Ferlito was born in Brooklyn, New York. Her father died when she was two of a heroin overdose. Her mother and stepfather own a hair salon in Brooklyn.[2] Ferlito gave birth to her son Vince in September 2007.[2][3][4]

She is an active member of People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA).[5]

Career

She is known for her roles in The Sopranos, Man of the House, Quentin Tarantino's Death Proof, for her role as Claudia Hernandez during 24's third season, but she is most commonly known for her role as Detective Aiden Burn on CSI: NY. She chose to leave the show because she wanted to focus on theatre and films,[6] where her biggest role to date has been as the trader Audrey in Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps who helps Jake, the main protagonist get revenge against the film's antagonist Bretton James.[7]

Even though she is of Italian descent she often plays Latinas on TV and in films.[2] In 2012, Ferlito was cast in Jeff Eastin's new drama series Graceland.[8]
