Vanderpump Rules is an American reality television series on Bravo, featuring The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills cast member Lisa Vanderpump in the title role and her staff at Vanderpump's West Hollywood, California, restaurant SUR. The series premiered on January 7, 2013, with the first season originally eight episodes. Andy Cohen later announced during the February 4, 2013, Watch What Happens Live episode that there would be a Vanderpump Rules reunion. The reunion was filmed on February 9, 2013.[1] It was announced in April 2013 that the series had been renewed for a second season.[2] The second season debut was a two-hour crossover episode with the fourth season premiere of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills on November 4, 2013.[3] The second season reunion was filmed on January 10, 2014.[4]
Premise
Vanderpump Rules follows Lisa Vanderpump as she divides her time between her motherly duties and hectic business. It also encompasses the employees at SUR as they work on building their futures plus the drama that occurs between them.[5]

- Lisa Vanderpump: Vanderpump is a co-owner of SUR and the mother of Pandora and Max, who are colleagues in fashion and music ventures respectively and friends with several SUR staff members, and a housewife on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.
- Stassi Schroeder: Schroeder is a server at SUR and writes a fashion blog column for Vanderpump's daughter, Pandora. Schroeder has made previous TV appearances in The Amazing Race: Family Edition with her father Mark, stepmother Char, and brother Hunter (they were eliminated in 7th place) and later in Queen Bees (she finished 6th place).[6]
- Scheana Marie Jancan: Jancan is a server at both SUR and Villa Blanca, as well as an aspiring singer and actress. She has made previous appearances in The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills during scenes shot at SUR, related to her affair with Brandi Glanville's ex-husband Eddie Cibrian.[7][8][9][10] She also appears in Femme Fatales as Angel, in season 3, episode 3 of 90210 and Victorious.[11][12][13][14]
- Jax Taylor: Taylor is a bartender at SUR and a model.[15]
- Katie Maloney: Maloney is a server at SUR and an aspiring actress.[16]
- Kristen Doute: Kristen is a server at SUR[17] and appears in the movie 23 Minutes to Sunrise with her boyfriend Tom Sandoval.[18]
- Tom Sandoval: Sandoval is a bartender at SUR and an actor. He has a lead role in the 2008 film Playing with Fire as Miles Butler.[19][20] Sandoval appears in season 1, episode 8 of The Hills during a Teen Vogue casting interview.[21]

- Tina (Season 1-present), Tina is a hostess at SUR and Scheana's best friend.
- Shay (Season 1-present), Shay is Scheanna's fiance.
- Kristina-Kelly (Season 2-present), Kristina is a server at SUR, and best friends with Stassi.
- Ariana (Season 2-present), Ariana is the new server at SUR, after being transferred from Villa Blanca. She is friends with Scheanna and has romantic history with Tom Sandoval.
- Laura-Leigh (Season 1), Laura-Leigh is a server at SUR; she is a Juilliard graduate and aspiring actress as well as a recovering addict; she is shown as Jax's new girlfriend after his break-up with Stassi. Laura-Leigh makes a minor appearance in the 2013 movie We're the Millers and also was a recurring character on The Client List as Nikki Shannon.[22]
- Frank (Season 1), Frank is a bartender at SUR and was briefly Stassi's boyfriend after her break-up with Jax.
