Valentinos Sielis (born 1 March 1990), is a Cypriot footballer who plays as a Left back for Cyprus First Division club Anorthosis Famagusta FC.

Sielis is considered one of the best footballers in the Cyprus. He awarded with the award of the best youth player in Cyprus in May 2012.[1]

Sielis is a Cypriot international and made his debut on 9 February 2011, against Romania national football team for the CytaVision Cyprus Tournament 2011.[2] Valentinos Sielis was the captain of Cypriot international team under 21 until 2011.[3]

Early life

Sielis was born in Paphos, a town of Cyprus, the middle child of his family, Valentinos have two brothers the older brother Giorgos Sielis a football player of AEK Kouklia Paphos F.C. and Christos Sielis the youngest brother of valentinos who current plays for Youth team of Arsenal Elite.

Sielis began his carrier in England first in Arsenal F.C. U12, Tottenham F.C U13, the first professional team for Doncaster Rovers F.C.,[4] Sielis signed with local club of Enosis Neon Thoi Lakatamia FC, and after a grate season he moved to Anorthosis Famagusta

2009-10

Anorthosis Famagusta coach Slavoljub Muslin gave Sielis his first playing time against Othellos Athienou F.C. at the 30 minute he was the first substitute of Anorthosis. Valentinos Sielis played both in matches as a total playing time of 104 minutes. Sielis also played 4 matches with the national team of under 21, 3 for the European Under-21 Qf. and one international friendly. Sielis scored his first goal with the national team of U-21 againstNorway under-21 football team in away win 1-3, on 03 September 2010.[5]

2010-11

Sielis began his European debut with Anorthosis Famagusta on the starting squad against CSKA Moscow in Antonis Papadopoulos Stadium for the UEFA Europa League 4th qualifying round.[6] He made his debut in Championship in the fourth match of the season against Olympiakos Nicosia.[7] He played for 18 matches, ten of them as a substitution, with 875 minutes of total playing time. On 8 May 2011, Sielis played for a first time in a Derby on the basic squad against AC Omonia.[8] He also made his debut with the national team of Cyprus in the home draw againsgt Iceland, on March 26, 2010.[9]

2011-12

During the Stoilov period, Sielis played in 3 of Anorthosis 4 matches in the Europa league, all as a substitution. After the arrival of Levi, Sielis played 4 times, once on the basic squad against Olympiakos Nicosia, in 9 Levi matches for Anorthosis.[10]

2012-13

Valentinos Sielis, Began the season as the second left back of the team, after the announchment of William Boaventura end his career,[11] Siels became the main left back of the team. Until the 19th match day Sielis was in all team lineups. He played 11 matches in Cyprus First Division, and two matches for FIFA World Cup qualification.[12] On March 2013 Valentinos Sielis had surgery with the result to lost all the matches until the end of the season with the club and national team.[13]
