CISN-FM (103.9 FM) is a radio station that broadcasts from Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. It is owned by Corus Entertainment, which also operates 630 CHED, CHQT 880, and Joe FM. The station has a country format, playing both current hits and past favorites. CISN is one of the longest Edmonton broadcasting stations on FM.[1]

In 2008, CISN 103.9 was the second most listened to radio station in Edmonton.[2] In the Fall 2011 Ratings period, it was ranked #4.[3] in the Spring 2013 ratings CISN had fallen to #6 in Edmonton.[4]

The station has had a number of changes to their on-air lineup in recent years. In 2010 long time morning man Bruce Bowie left CISN to begin work as the morning host of sister station 630 CHED. At the same time Chris Scheetz moved from afternoons to mornings.[5]

In August 2011, morning show co-host Leslie Stein left CISN to Co-Host a morning show in Calgary on Up 97.7.[6]

2012 brought more changes. Afternoon host and former midday/music director Mike McGuire was fired. He is now the program director at 93.1 The One in Leduc. Morning man Sean Burke was fired in November 2012. He now works as morning announcer at 93.1 the One in Leduc. Evening announcer Dave Rolfson resigned in November 2012 and does fill in work at 93.1 The One in Leduc.[7][8]

Middays: Scott Phillips (This show is broadcast out of Calgary on Country 105 and simulcast on CISN)

Afternoons: Chelsea Bird & Clayton Bellamy (member of Canadian country band The Roadhammers)

Evenings: Steph Hansen (This show is broadcast originally on CISN and simulcast to Country 105 in Calgary)

Swing announcers: Brett Nestman & Scott Hackman

Awards

CISN-FM was the winner of the Canadian Country Music Association's Annual Country Station of the Year (Major Market Category) five times sinces the award's 2000 creation, having won in 2003, 2004, 2009, 2010 and 2012.[10][11][12][13][14]
