Uzma Khan is a zoologist, conservationist and animal welfare activist from Pakistan.

Career

Uzma Khan did her MSc in Applied Animal Behaviour and Welfare from the University of Edinburgh, UK. She was awarded Shell Centenary scholarship to pursue her master's degree. She specialized in 'Endangered Species Management'. She is currently doing her PhD research in collaboration with the University of Siena, Italy. Her research focuses on the ecology of the Common leopard (Panthera pardus) in Ayubia National Park.

Uzma has been working at WWF-Pakistan since 1998. Currently, she is Director Biodiversity and has been involved in major conservation projects such as Indus River Dolphin Project, Common Leopard Conservation Project and Gyps Vulture Restoration Programme.

She also worked as an educationalist at Lahore Zoo. In 2000, she left the office and was succeeded by Bushra Khan. She is still associated with the Lahore Zoo as a member of the Lahore Zoo Management Committee.
