Ust-Tsilemsky District (Russian: Усть-Цилемский райо́н; Komi: Чилимдiн район) is an administrative district (raion), one of the twelve in the Komi Republic, Russia.[1] Municipally, it is incorporated as Ust-Tsilemsky Municipal District.[2] It is located in the northwest of the republic. The area of the district is 42,500 square kilometers (16,400 sq mi).[citation needed] Its administrative center is the rural locality (a selo) of Ust-Tsilma.[1] District's population: 13,036 (2010 Census);[3] 15,408 (2002 Census);[6] 16,557 (1989 Census).[7] The population of Ust-Tsilma accounts for 37.4% of the district's total population.[3]
The district's administrative center is located on the Pechora River across from the mouths of both the Tsilma River and the Pizhma River.
