Usmanpura is a suburban locality on the banks of the Sabarmati River in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, India. Usmanpura is an important landmark on the cultural map of India as it houses Darpan Academy, run by Mallika Sarabhai, one of the most famous exponents of classical dancing in India. The locality is also known for the premier hotel Hotel Fortune Landmark, an important landmark on the city map for all tourists. In the center of locality is the Usmanpura garden that encircles a famous religious shrine frequented by the city's Muslims. The boundaries of the suburb also touch Gujarat Vidyapith a major university founded by Mahatma Gandhi, the father of Indian independence.
