Urbos

Urbos is a family of light rail vehicles built by CAF.

There are three generations of Urbos:

Urbos 1

Urbos 1 tram in Bilbao.

This series was only sold to Euskotren to operate tram services in Bilbao.[1]

Urbos 2

Urbos 2 operating in Vélez-Málaga

  • Tranvía de Vitoria
  • Metro de Sevilla
  • Metrocentro de Sevilla (replaced by Urbos 3 in March 2011)

Urbos 3

Urbos 3 has several technical innovations including supercapacitors, allowing brief operation without an external electrical supply.[2] This ACR system (Acumulador de Carga Rápida[3]) allowed the tramway operator in Sevilla to remove the overhead wires in key locations during Holy Week 2011.[4] They have low floors and a maximum speed of 70 km/h. It is only in use on two tram networks: the Zaragoza and Belgrade. They have been ordered by light rail and tram networks in:
