Uranchimegiin Mönkh-Erdene (Mongolian: Уранчимэгийн Мөнх-Эрдэнэ; born March 20, 1982) is an amateur boxer from Mongolia who competed in the Lightweight (−60 kg) and junior welter, 64 kg division at three Olympics, 2004, 2008, 2012.

Career

In 2004 he competed at the 2004 Summer Olympics and beat Michael Medur (Mauritius) 29–23 but lost his bout at the round of 16 to North Korea's Jong Sub Baik 22–33.

In 2006 he won silver at the 2006 Asian Games losing to China's Hu Qing 22–38.[1]

Junior Welter

In 2008 he failed in his first qualifier at lightweight against Baik Jong-Sub but went up a weightclass and qualified for the Olympics by winning the Junior Welterweight competition of the second qualifier against Akmat Madaminov. He won a silver medal at first AIBA world cup in Moscow, 2008.

At the Olympics 2008 he beat Hastings Bwalya and upset Bulgarian Boris Georgiev but lost to Frenchman Alexis Vastine.

He won bronze at the 2009 World Amateur Boxing Championships.

At the 2011 World Amateur Boxing Championships (results) he lost his fourth bout 11-16 to Vincenzo Mangiacapre.

At the 2012 Olympics (results) he won his first three bouts including local hero Tom Stalker, then lost 23:29 to Denys Berinchyk and won Bronze.[2]
