Umrana Janoobi

Umrana Janoobi is a village situated at the bank of Jhelum River. The people of this village are mostly from Sial family. It is said that Umar Hayat Sial was lived in this area. He had seven sons named; Hashim, Hamid, Khera, Dula, Hamo, Budha,sadu. He was a land lord. So, he divided his land between their sons. Nowadays, population of this village is in thousands.

Area Division: Umrana Janoobi is divided into two areas. (1) Flooded Area (2) Non Flooded Area About 80% area of this village is called Flooded Area. Jhelum River and Chenab both hit this area during flood season.

Union Council: This village is the part of UC-65, 18-Hazari.

Schools: Govt. P/S Umrana Janoobi for boys, Govt. P/S Umrana Janoobi for girls, Tameer-i-Millat Model School.

Hospital: Unfortunately, there is no hospital for thousands of people of this village.

Crops: Wheat, Sugar cane, Rice, Cotton, etc.
