Ubay Luzardo Santana (born 6 November 1983 in Las Palmas, Spain) is a Spanish footballer who plays for [[S.C. Farense|Farense]] in the Second League in Portugal as a defender.
Career
Spain
Luzardo started his professional career playing two seasons in La Liga with UD Las Palmas. For the next six seasons Ubay played with numerous Spanish clubs in the lower Tercera División.
Kitchee SC
2009–10 Hong Kong First Division League season
In July 2009, Ubay Luzardo signed a three year contract with Hong Kong side Kitchee SC, starting in all 18 matches.
2011 Barclays Asia Trophy
Kitchee SC won the 2010–11 Hong Kong First Division League and qualified to play in the 2011 Barclays Asia Trophy. Ubay played as captain of Kitchee since club captain Lo Kwan Yee is on Hong Kong national team duty. While playing against Chelsea FC on 27 July 2011. In the third place play-off against Blackburn Rovers, he missed Kitchee's penalty kick. [1]
2011–12 Hong Kong First Division League season
In the match against Tai Po FC, Luzardo scored straight off the bench to make it 3–2 for Kitchee then reverting to his usual centre back position.[2] Also Ubay scored a double against former A-League player Karl Dodd's TSW Pegasus, before later on in the season flying over to Australia to trial with an A-League club.
Melbourne Victory
Ubay Luzardo was invited to trial with Melbourne Victory in January 2012, with a view to possibly filling a spot on the roster. Coach Jim Magilton thinks the Victory are undermanned and think Luzardo could fill the void. "I like what I saw. I saw a few games pre-season, he played against Chelsea and Blackburn and I like what I see," he said.[3] On 8 February 2012, it was confirmed he had signed a loan deal with Melbourne Victory until the end of the 2011-12 A-League season.[4][5] On 10 March, in the match between Melbourne Victory and Sydney FC, Ubay Luzardo was adjudged to have brought down Bruno Cazarine in a 32nd-minute off-the-ball tussle in the box, the conceded penalty resulted in Sydney FC's 1-0 win which put an official end to Victory's finals hopes.[6] After Melbourne Victory's season ended, he returned to Kitchee SC, as his loan deal with Melbourne Victory had expired.
Farense
In July 2013, Ubay Luzardo signed for [[S.C. Farense|Farense]] to help them achieve promotion to Portuguese top flight.
