Location of the town and municipality of Ubaté in Cundinamarca Department.

Villa San Diego de Ubaté is a town and municipality in the Cundinamarca Department, Colombia. Its name comes from the native name "Ebate" meaning "Bloodied Land". It was at one point populated by Chibcha tribes. It was founded in 1592. It is known as the "Milk Capital of Colombia" and for a Gothic style Cathedral and the San Luis Convent.
