Musical career history

A Path Less Traveled (2008)

Tyler Carter was briefly a vocalist for the band A Path Less Traveled. The group had one EP that was entitled From Here on Out that he and Michael Bohn performed on together.

Woe, Is Me (2009-2011)

Carter, along with former A Path Less Traveled bandmate Michael Bohn, were recruited by the other 5 original Woe, Is Me members to handle clean and unclean vocal duties. He recorded one full length with the band as well as a cover of Katy Perry's Hot n Cold for Fearless Records's Punk Goes Pop 3 before leaving the band due to personal issues.[1]

Issues (2012-present)

Issues was started in the summer of 2012 by Carter and other former members of Woe, Is Me.[2] They were signed to Velocity/Rise Records shortly after.[3]

Solo career

Aside from Issues, Carter manages a solo career. Like Issues, he is signed to Velocity/Rise Records.

Personal life

Carter was born in Habersham County, Georgia. Carter was a musical child and played drums at a young age. He joined a praise band during his high school years. In high school, before being signed to Rise Records, himself and his best friend Rachel Reece had planned out a career and future together as musicians. There was talk of management, as well as record deals. One day, Carter received a phone call saying that Rachel had been struck and killed by a drunk driver. Devastated, Carter decided then that he'd give up music and pursue a career as a psychiatrist. While Tyler was filling out an application to Auburn University, he got a phone call asking if Rise Records could sign him. [4] He agreed and later joined the band A Path Less Traveled. In 2013, he came out as bisexual.[5]
