Turate is a comune (municipality) in the Province of Como in the Italian region Lombardy, located about 40 km northeast of Milan and about 30 km southeast of Como. As of 31 December 2004, it had a population of 8,328 and an area of 10.1 km².[1]
The municipality of Turate contains the frazioni (subdivisions, mainly villages and hamlets) Santa Maria, Mascazza, Piatti, and Fagnana.
Turate borders the following municipalities: Cirimido, Cislago, Fenegrò, Gerenzano, Limido Comasco, Lomazzo, Rovello Porro.
