Tsuchiura Station

Tsuchiura Station (土浦駅 Tsuchiura eki) is a railway station on the Jōban Line in Tsuchiura, Ibaraki, Japan, operated by the East Japan Railway Company (JR East).
Lines
Tsuchiura station is served by the Jōban Line from Ueno Station in Tokyo.
Station layout
The station consists of one side platform and one island platform serving three tracks.

History
Tsuchiura Station opened on 4 November 1895.[1]
On 17 April 1918, the Tsukuba Railway Line opened from Tsuchiura Station to Iwase Station.[citation needed]
On 26 October 1943, three trains crashed at Tsuchiura killing 110 people.[citation needed]
The Tsukuba Railway Line closed on 1 April 1987.[citation needed]
