Tripurantakam is a village and a Mandal in Prakasam district in the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh.[2] The people are Hindus.

Temple and Name

As per Shiva Purana Lord Shiva destroyed tripurasuras (demons ruling three cities) there. Since he destroyed the three cities along with the demons, he is called Tripurantakeshwara and this place is called Tripurantakam. This temple is on the top of the hill and a hidden underground passage reaches to Sri Sailam next to the temple. Below the hill is a mother Parvati temple in the form of Tripura Sundari Devi. Tripurantakam is considered as eastern gateway of Shrishailam.

Education

There is One Zilla Parishad High School and One Government Junior college there. Some other private education institutes are here. This place developed by the Nagarjuna sagar canal. In the early days of NSP canal there are many NSP divisions and Many government employees stayed there.

Economy

Andhra Pragathi Grameena Bank (APGB) & SBI are there.

The village is situated on the National Highway Guntur-Kurnool.
