Trewern is a small village in Powys, Mid Wales.
Location
It is situated on the A458 road, between the towns of Shrewsbury and Welshpool.
Attractions & amenities
Although only a small village in terms of population, there is a primary school with pupils travelling from miles around. Trewern also has many other sites, such as an extinct volcano and is surrounded by plenty of woodland suitable for outdoor activities.
The word Trewern is Celtic, formed of "tre" meaning dwelling and "wern" meaning marsh, thus dwelling by/near the marsh.
The village continues to see a steady increase in its population. One main reason for this is the more competitive house prices and being well situated near major towns and cities such as Shrewsbury, Birmingham and Chester.
