Trevat, Texas

Trevat, Texas was a farming community 12 miles from Groveton in Trinity County, Texas. It was established around the Civil War time. There was a post office in 1892, and by 1896, there was a flour mill and gin, a store, and a population of about 120. In 1925, the population was around 300, but the town declined around the late 1920s. In 1927 the post office closed and by World War II, the school closed. By 1990 only a church, cemetery, and a few houses remained. No population estimates are available.
