Travele Jones (born November 9, 1988) is an American basketball player, currently with the Sendai 89ers of the Japanese bj League. Jones was an All-American college player at Texas Southern University.
Jones came to Texas Southern after two seasons at Cerritos College, a junior college in California.[1] After averaging 13.7 points and 5.8 rebounds per game as a junior in 2009–10, Jones raised his game in his final season. He led the Tigers to a Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) regular season championship, averaging 16 points and 6.9 rebounds per game. At the conclusion of the season, Jones was named the SWAC Player of the Year[2] and an honorable mention All-American by the Associated Press.[3]
Following the close of his college career, Jones was not selected in the 2011 NBA draft. He instead signed with El Massagno in Switzerland's LNB. Following the 2011–12 season, where he averaged 16.8 points and 7.3 rebounds, he moved to Verviers-Pepinster in Belgium.[4] For the 2013–14 season, Jones signed with the Sendai 89ers in Japan.
