Travel Insured International is a privately held American travel insurance supplier.[3] It specializes in travel insurance and emergency assistance services. Travel Insured International is headquartered out of East Hartford, Connecticut within the historical insurance hub of greater Hartford, Connecticut. The company maintains a network of more than 5,000 travel agents, tour operators, and specialty travel providers.

History

Travel Insured International was founded in 1993 by insurance industry executive Peter Gehris when he acquired the travel protection division of the Travelers Insurance Company. The company opened its doors in 1994 offering only one travel insurance product for trip cancellation. As the business grew they began to offer a range of insurance plans that include 24/7 worldwide assistance services and customer care.[4] Today the company maintains a partnership with Arch Insurance Group, an A.M. Best Rated “A” insurance carrier.[5] The company has also seen a growth of at least 10% in each year since 2005.

Operating Territory

Travel Insured International primarily insures travelers based in the United States. It has partnered with travel agencies in all 50 states.
