The Darmstadt tramway network is a network of tramways forming part of the public transport system in Darmstadt, a city in the federal state of Hesse, Germany.
As of 2012, the network comprised nine lines,[1] covering 42 kilometres (26 mi) of route,[1] and serving 76 stops[2][3] (counting stops on all lines, there are 162 tram stops, including 92 low-floor stops).[1]
History
Opened in 1886, the network has been operated since 1912 by Hessische Eisenbahn-Aktiengesellschaft (HEAG (de)) either directly, or, more recently, through one of its subsidiaries.
Lines
The central nodal point of the Darmstadt tramway network is the Luisenplatz (de), through which eight of Darmstadt's nine tram lines pass.[2] As of 2011, the network comprised the following lines:

All lines run – unless otherwise stated – at 15 minute intervals (evenings and Sunday mornings at 30 minute intervals). On the interurban line to Alsbach, service intervals are 30 minutes, reduced to 15 minute intervals for commuter traffic.
