Tramp Attack are an English rock band from Liverpool.
History
Tramp Attack formed in Liverpool at the turn of the century, and the original lineup included the future leader of The Zutons Dave McCabe; as well as Hollyoaks and Brookside actor Kristian Ealey.
After quickly gaining an enthusiastic and loyal fanbase, the original line-up of Dave McCabe, Matt Barton, Ian Lane, Kristian Ealey and James Redmond secured residencies in the pubs and clubs of Liverpool. They also went on to win a Battle Of The Bands in The Royal Court This line-up released a vinyl only single 'Rocky Hangover' produced by Rob Ferrier at Great Northern Studios with B sides 'Broken Man'(written by McCabe) and 'Ladybird' (written by Redmond). These B sides and the ever popular 'Double Decker Bus' (produced by Mike Badger and Paul Hemmings of The La's) went on to form the bulk of the bands contribution to the 21st Century Underground compilation album released on The Viper Label in 2005.
A reformed lineup was briefly known as The Mother Lovers, and one song, Rex, was released under that name on an acoustic compilation album.
Tramp Attack then returned, led by Matt Barton, and played several sell-out gigs at The Bandwagon night held at The Zanzibar Club in Liverpool. Liverpool at the time was attracting much interest from record labels large and small, and Tramp Attack proceeded to release records through the London-based Must Destroy record label, such as the band's first album 'Attack, Attack, Attack...'
In the summer of 2006 the band's second album 'Call In Sick' was released on The Viper Label. The band, despite a brief break-up at the start of 2007, continue to perform throughout the city of Liverpool and further afield, such as at the Coniston Festival.
