Tractor Tom

Tractor Tom is a British animated TV program, produced by Contender Entertainment Group, Hibbert Ralph Entertainment, Chapman Entertainment and HiT Entertainment. There are two series of 26 eleven-minute episodes produced between 9 February 2003 and 2004. There was also a stage show.

The show aired on CITV and Tiny Pop in the UK, and played in New Zealand and Australia. It was now aired on Cartoonito, Nick Jr. and Milkshake! on Channel 5 in 2013. In the USA, it was aired on PBS Sprout.

Sales from DVDs of series one contributed to the Great Ormand Street Hospital Children's Charity. (although this is stated on the DVD covers the reference has been removed from the Tractor Tom official site) [1] and [2]

The slogan for the show was "Tractor Tom, what would we do without you?"

Set on the idyllic Springhill Farm, brave and resourceful Tractor Tom and his human, animal and vehicle friends have fun and adventures at both work and play.

The first series featured Liza Tarbuck and James Nesbitt as Farmer Fi and Matt respecitively, but the vehicles only communicated through engine sounds like Engie Benjy's seasons 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5.

The second series introduced new voices for Fi and Matt and the vehicles talked as well.

The third series still had Liza Tarbuck and James Nesbitt as Fi and Matt, but the vehicles still talked and introduced a new pick up truck character.

The most popular shows than this are Chuck & Friends, Alphablocks, Budgie the Little Helicopter, Engie Benjy, Tayo the Little Bus, Rubbadubbers, Tots TV, Mio & Mao, Roary and Jellikins.

Characters

Vehicles

Meet Tom, he's a cheerful bright red tractor who is optimistic and always tries to solve his friends' problems. He is also afraid in the dark sometimes. He is the leader of the show and he knows about safety tips. Tom is sometimes bossy but the best bit is when his light flashes, he has lots of ideas. He was seen on some Sprout videos with his friends. His catchphrase is "Hold on tight!"

Meet Buzz, he's a young and inquisitive blue and yellow quadbike who is sometimes said to be "too small". He also liked to get into trouble with Snicker the foal in Seasons 1, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10 and all of theme except Season 2, and arguably Tom's closest friend. His catchphrase is "A job, a job, A JOB!"

Meet Wheezy, he's the farm's slow, old, and large yellow combine harvester who enjoyed telling stories in the first series and likes to stay in the barn, which is the "home" of Tom, Buzz, him and Rora. Actually, well it's back to telling stories in seasons 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16 and more, but in Season 5's tweleveth episode "Sleepharvesting", he feels tired and goes out to harvest the wheat, while sleeping! His catchphrase is "That's more like it!"

Meet Rev, he's a large purple pick-up truck belonging to Matt the farmhand that often boasts and his least favourite things are coming second in a race and getting dirty. He is not a villain-like character, but sometimes disagreeable. Rev is also a good friend of Tom's. He really hates smelly things, even in both seasons. In Season 3's first episode "Sleepflying", he was woken up by Dusty going sleepflying. His catchphrase is "Trucks are cool!"

Meet Rora, she was introduced at the beginning of Season 2 as a hot pink-coloured motorbike and replaced Buzz as Farmer Fi's on-road vehicle. An energetic character who is a good friend of Dusty and has a friendly rivalry with Rev. She was seen on some Milkshake! videos. Also, she asked her friends to join in. Her catchphrase is "Motorbikes aren't scared of ANYTHING!"

Meet Dusty, she was introduced early in Season 2 as a yellow and orange crop-dusting aeroplane and is energetic and friendly. She likes to loop-the-loop! Her catchphrase is "Wheeeee!!"

Meet Stinky Sam, he was introduced at the beginning of Season 3 as a green pick-up truck who is identical to Rev, but he doesn't mind picking up smelly things. His catchphrase is "Stinky by name, stinky by nature!"

Humans

Farmer Fi The sole farmer of Springhill Farm, who wears a pink shirt and hat, blue trousers with a yellow flower at the bottom and has blonde hair. In the second series the hat was replaced with blue overalls. She only needs one employee, Matt, because she owns a very small farm. Her catchphrase is "Welcome to Springhill Farm!"

Meet Matt, he lives in a small silver caravan down the road from the farm, and often helps with the work on the farm. He is rather forgetful and mentally clumsy, especially in the second series. He owns Rev the pick-up truck and drives in him everywhere. His catchphrase is "What would we do without you!"

Meet Mr. Robswill, he is the head manager of Springhill Farm. His catchphrase is "Farm rarm!". His voice is played by Keith Wickham.

Animals

Meet The Hens, there are only 3 of them brown ones on Springhill Farm.

Meet Wack, he is one of the two ducks on the farm. he wears an orange collar.

Meet Bach, he is the other duck which wears a blue collar.

Meet Riff The farm's sheepdog who likes to associate with the other animals, and likes rounding them up like sheep.

Meet Purdey, she is Farmer Fi's pet cat who is rather lazy and is a friend of Wheezy's.

Meet Mo he is the only cow on the farm and hence sometimes gets lonely but otherwise an ordinary cow character.

Meet Winnie she is a horse who tends to not be very excited, except when it comes to carrots.

Meet Snicker, he is Winnie's foal who likes to get into mischief with Buzz the quadbike and his favourite food is sugarcubes, but also, like Winnie, loves carrots. Notably one of the few male animals on the farm.

Meet The Sheep, There are 8 of them who like to use strange non-animal objects such as helter-skelters, central heating systems, and baths. They also love to get into mischief and go into Matt's caravan when unwanted.

Mentioned or Guests

Meet Farmer Allsop, he runs the neighbouring farm to Farmer Fi's. He is mentioned many times, but he made no appearances in Seasons 1 and 2, dissapointing. He now made appearances in lots of seasons like 3, 4 and 5. His catchphrase is "Oo-arr!"

Meet Roly, Farmer Fi has borrowed him twice when Wheezy wasn't available in "Where's Wheezy?". He looks exactly like Wheezy but is blue and is much faster. In his first appearance he only appeared harvesting the wheat, but he was revealed as Roly in his second appearance, and was given a voice and he was an evil combine harvester and broke down. His catchphrase is "I'm the fastest combine harvester in the world, now you watch!"

Meet Mr. Aziz, he was only mentioned once when Rev was carrying manure for his roses.

Meet Rory, he is identical to Rora, but he only appeared in the last episode of Season 1, when hired by Matt. He also has a similar engine sound like Buzz's in Season 1. He is an orange motorbike. In seasons 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14 and more, he was given a voice. His catchphrasees are "Watch out, coming through!", "Move over!" and "Get out of my way."

Meet the Wild Ducks There are 3 wild ducks that look like Wack and Bach and they only appeared in the last episode of Season 2, when they were migrating and stop for a rest.

Meet the Rabbit It is unknown if the rabbit that appeared in Season 1 to steal the animal's food is the same one that appeared in Season 2, visiting in Wheezy's "quiet place".

Meet Fi's Parents Fi's mother phoned her once, not making an appearance, worrying about Fi's father's sudden illness, which turned out to be not serious. As Fi said, it was "just my mum worrying. You know what she's like."

Meet Jerry, he runs the sports centre and talked to Matt on the phone once. He was only in Season 1, but he made no appearances.

Meet Fred, he is identical to Tom, but he is a black tractor who works with Farmer Allsop. He appears in Seasons 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15 and 16. His catchphrase is "I am ready!"

Meet Samuel, she is identical to Buzz, but is a grey quadbike who works with Farmer Allsop. She appears in Seasons 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15 and 16. Her catchphrase is "Woo-hoo!"

Meet Maniac, he is identical to Dusty, but he has a brown and white hangar, similar and next to Dusty's. He is a brown and white airplane. His catchphrase is "Watch out, let's do this!"
