Tough Cookie

Tough Cookie is a UK based producer of audio and video content for the internet. Tough Cookie was launched in 2004 by Andy Wood and Neill Sullivan - subsequently joined by Dave Castell - placing itself at the forefront of the booming online video market, producing over 300 pieces of content for brands, cross-media broadcasters and record labels.

In music, Tough Cookie has filmed live shows from acts such as Amy Winehouse, Klaxons, Duffy, Editors, Kate Nash, Corinne Bailey Rae, The Feeling, The Fratellis, Dirty Pretty Things, Kanye West and Adele.

In live events, Tough Cookie produced shows such as the JD Set on Channel 4, Tiscali Live Tiscali, Metal Hammer Awards, Ronnie Scotts Awards and the live webcast launch of the Fiat 500 for MSN. Additionally Tough Cookie have produced web only programming for the Nokia Green Room and Let's Dance for Comic Relief.

Productions alo to air included BBC 6Music Hub Sessions BBC 6Music and Xclusives on MSN.

On 2 February 2007 it was announced that Malcolm Gerrie's Whizz Kid Entertainment had bought Tough Cookie. Whizz Kid, which is supported by venture capital funding through Ingenious Media, has bought the company as part of its strategy to build a portfolio new-style music programmes. Dave Castell, ex-Head Of Music, Mobile, Technology and Games at Tiscali (TalkTalk) joined the board as a Director Of Creative and Technology / Director Of New Media.

In December 2008, Dave Castell left to set up multi-platform digital, content and consulting agency Big Briefs, and in April 2009 Andy Wood and Neill Sullivan left Tough Cookie to launch Silver Bullet Entertainment.
