Tomi Janežič

Tomi Janežič is a Slovenian theatre director and professor at the Academy for Theatre, Radio, Film, and Television (AGRFT) in Ljubljana, Slovenia.

Professional career

Janezic was a lecturer as part of the interdisciplinary doctoral studies programme at the University of Arts in Belgrade, Serbia. He taught also at the Academy of Arts within the University of Osijek in Croatia, lectured in the frame of undergraduate and postgraduate courses at the Academy of Arts in Novi Sad, Serbia, and lead a number of seminars and workshops in the field of acting.

As theatre director, Janezic has directed for the national, city, and other independent productions in most of the former Yugoslav countries.

Since 1996, Janezic has worked as an artistic director. From 2004 he has also directed at The Studio for Research of the Art of Acting in Ljubljana, within the framework, and in collaboration, with parallel foreign organizations and artists. Janezic has done research projects in the field of acting, one of which is the international research programme called Potentials of Acting.

Between 2003 and 2007 he worked as a free-lance artist. Since 2007 he has held a post at the AGRFT in Ljubljana.

Recipient of well over a dozen, mainly international, prizes and awards.[citation needed]

Educational Background

Janezic holds a Bachelor of Arts (1998) and Master of Arts (2001) from the Academy for Theatre, Radio, Film, and Television (AGRFT) in Ljubljana. He also has additional education in Slovenia and abroad, particularly in the field of various teaching techniques, and currently is enrolled in the international psychodrama education programme in Zagreb.
