Demorris "Toby" Smith (born October 25, 1981) is an American professional basketball player.
Basketball career
Smith played college basketball at Connors State College.
In 2005, he played with the Lawrenceville Jazz of the SEBL. After that, he played with the Chattanooga Steamers of the ABA, but the team folded in December 2005. In 2006, Smith played with the Anderson Heat of the World Basketball Association (WBA). In 2007, he played with the Wilson HardHats of the WBA and averaged 30.4 points per game and 14.2 rebounds per game.[1]
He played with the Rio Grande Valley Silverados of the Continental Basketball Association (CBA) during the 2007–2008 season and was once named player of the week. He played with the Albany Patroons during the 2008-2009 CBA season wearing number 31. He played 15 games with the Patroons averaging 5 points per game and 4.2 rebounds per game.
In 2010, he played 3 games with the Albany Legends of the IBL and averaged 12.7 points per game, 4.3 rebounds per game, and 1.7 assists per game. Smith scored a total of 38 points, 13 rebounds, and 5 assists with the team. He was released by the Legends in April. The Legends won all three games that Smith played in and lost their first game after releasing him.
