Tiny-G (Korean: 타이니지) is a four-member girl group from South Korea, formed in 2012 by GNG production. The group consists of Dohee, J Min, Mint, and Myung Ji. Their name "Tiny-G" stands for "Tiny Giant" because even though they're small with an average height of 153 cm, they are strong and fierce like giants. They are a skillful b-boying hip hop group.[1][2]

History

Pre-debut

Before debut, the group appeared on MBC's show Show Champion on April 24, 2012 [3] and performed the track “Polaris”, a song which singer Jay Park and actress Lee Si-young had made for them as a gift through MBC's Music and Lyrics. The instrumentation was composed and produced by Cha Cha Malone and Jay Park. The song was titled "Polaris" and was released on May 5.[4] After "Music & Lyrics" was broadcast, Tiny-G became the number 1 searched item on many Korean search engines.[5]

Debut

Their debut single "Tiny-G" was released on August 23, 2012. They made their debut on M! Countdown with "Tiny-G".[6] The teaser of the song were released on LOEN Entertainment YouTube at the beginning of August, with a 44-second clip released on August 9. Later they releases an album jacket photos on August 16. After revealing a previous music video teaser and their album jacket photos, Tiny-G has released a 63-second “drama teaser” on August 21 for the upcoming music video. Then hours before their debut on M! Countdown, they released their "Tiny-G" music video. Tiny-G have released their second single, "Minimanimo" on January 20, 2013.
