Approximately the eastern three-quarters of Nebraska lies in the Central Time Zone and the rest is in the Mountain Time Zone, as follows:
- Mountain Time Zone contains all of the counties who are entirely west of -100.833° (100°50'W) longitude, plus approximately the western 3/4 of Cherry County.
- Central Time Zone contains the rest of the state.
