Tim Mannah is a professional rugby league footballer of Lebanese-Australian heritage currently playing for the Parramatta Eels in the National Rugby League (NRL).[1]
Early life
He primarily plays at prop.[2] Mannah attended Christian Community High School, an independent secondary school situated in the Sydney suburb of Regents Park. He graduated in 2006.[3] He played his junior rugby with the Guildford Owls.
Junior career
In 2006, Mannah represented and co-captained the Australian Schoolboys national rugby league team where he scored two tries against the French Juniors side.[4]
Mannah also became the first player to captain a Parramatta Eels' side in the revamped NYC Toyota Cup competition in 2008.[5]
First grader career
In round 1 of the 2009 season, Mannah made his NRL first grade debut for Parramatta Eels against the New Zealand Warriors at Mt Smart Stadium.[6]
Mannah scored his maiden first grade try in the 2009 Preliminary Final against the Bulldogs in front of 74,449 crowd at the ANZ stadium. Mannah is regarded by many as a potential future leader of the Parramatta first grade side[7][8] His brother, Jon Mannah, played for the Sharks from between 2009 to 2011.[9]
Representative career
In 2010, Mannah played for the both the City team and the New South Wales State of Origin team as a substitute. In 2011, Mannah played again for City and all three State of Origin games for New South Wales. In the final two games of the series Mannah started both and was actually one of only 2 prop forwards playing for New South Wales after coach, Ricky Stuart opted for a faster, more mobile pack and played second-rowers in the prop forward position.
At the end of the 2011 season, Mannah was selected by Julia Gillard to join the Prime Minister's XIII for their annual clash with the PNG Kumuls.
