Tiger Weekly
Tiger Weekly was an independently owned student alt-weekly newspaper published by 614 Media Group and distributed on the campus of Louisiana State University and around the Baton Rouge, LA community. The publication was founded in 1997 by then undergraduate student Wayne Lewis who set out to create his own student newspaper.
Tiger Weekly publishes approximately 39 issues per year, in line with the LSU academic calendar. The publication has a weekly circulation of 23,000 and is distributed on Wednesdays.
The content of Tiger Weekly is a mix of community and campus news, local sports and entertainment, in which the majority is produced by students of Louisiana State University. The daily operations of the paper, such as sales and graphic design, are handled by a full-time staff.
Tiger Weekly changed its name to DIG Magazine in 2011. It is now focused on the city of Baton Rouge, rather than only LSU.
Editorial staff
The editor-in-chief of Tiger Weekly is Kayla Falgoust. Working under her is a team of section editors: Rafaella Cuff (news editor), Jason Andreasen (entertainment editor) and Josh Davidson (sports editor). The paper has more than 30 freelance contributing and senior writers, as well as several photographers and comic artists.
