Tiernan (Irish name: Tiernan Ó hAllaráin ; born 26 February 1991) is an Irish professional rugby union player. O'Halloran plays mainly on the wing for provincial side Connacht.[1]
Versatile back Tiernan O'Halloran became Connacht's first ever try scorer in the Heineken Cup history in November 2011.
His form during the early stages of the 2011/12 season earned the former Ireland Under-20 international a new contract with Connacht and an invitation to training with the Ireland squad ahead of the Six Nations.
Connacht
O'Halloran joined the Connacht Rugby first team in the 2009-10 season but he did not feature in any matches. in the 2010-11 season he was on the bench for three matches and was beginning to get more game time. Then he scored a try against Harlequins in the Heineken Cup and made history scoring Connacht's first ever Heineken Cup try. He was included in the 36-10 thrashing in the Heineken Cup by Toulouse and once again Connacht Rugby lost to Gloucester 23-19 in which O'Halloran scored a try. O'Halloran then played in the 24-3 loss against Toulouse but played in Connacht's first ever Heineken Cup win when the men in green beat Harlequins 9-8.
In the 2011-12 Pro 12 O'Halloran scored a try against Cardiff Blues and Leinster Rugby plus one more against Glasgow Warriors. He then scored a try in a famous 26-21 beating of Ulster Rugby to make his tally of pro 12 tries to 5 and 7 in all competitions.
