Thorsten Stuckmann (born 17 March 1981) is a German goalkeeper who plays for Preston North End in Football League One.

Career

Stuckmann was born in Gütersloh. He played for German clubs SC Preußen Münster, Eintracht Braunschweig and Alemannia Aachen before joining English League One club Preston North End in 2011.[1] He kept his first clean sheet in English football in his second game, a goalless draw with Southend United in the FA Cup,[2] and saved a penalty on his Football League début a week later, in a 1–0 home loss against Rochdale. [3] Stuckmann has kept 10 clean sheets in 24 appearances for Preston, establishing himself as a fan's favourite. He is renowned as being one of the best penalty savers around, saving several in his first few games for Preston. His sheer size makes him tougher to beat but he also has unbelievable reflexes. He was voted Preston's Player of the Year for the 2011/12 season.
