Thoppur is a village located at Dharmapuri (Tamil Nadu) district. It is also junction for Mettur Road. Thoppur is a small village surrounded by Ghat section and is located on the border of Salem and Dharmapuri districts, Thoppur which is in between Salem and Dharmapuri (NH-7). The distance from Salem is 50 kilometres (31 mi) and Bangalore is 164 kilometres (102 mi). Thoppaiyaru Dam, Anjaneyar Kovi (Mutthampatty), Rope Winch, Perumal Kovil (on Vanagunda hill). Thoppaiyaru Dam is famous in the highway.

There is a holy shrine of Hazrath Syed Shah Vali Ulla Dargha (Famously known As Thoppur Dargha) (Muslim shrine) Devotees from different places visit this place for the Blessings.Every Thursday and Friday lots of devotees visit this place.

Transport

Thoppur lies on National Highway 44 (formerly National Highway 7) connecting Kashmir with Kanyakumari.[1] It is also the terminal point of State Highway 20 connecting Mettur and Erode.[2]
