Thiriya Nizamat Khan is a town and a nagar panchayat in Bareilly district in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh.
As of 2001 India census,[1] Thiriya Nizamat Khan had a population of 25,251. Males constitute 52% of the population and females 48%. Thiriya Nizamat Khan has an average literacy rate of 72%, higher than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy is 79%, and female literacy is 65%. In Thiriya Nizamat Khan, 18% of the population is under 6 years of age.
This place is 12 km south east of Bareilly at the end of Cantonment region. This is predominantly a small town on the outskirts of Bareilly. NH 24 is quite close to the town.
During the British rule in India about 150 peoples of TOWN went to Germany to support the Britisher in the world war. They were awarded a white stone which was kept near sabri school in the outskirts of the town.Britisher were very impessed with the passion,dedication and courage of the people of thiriya nizawat khan. the monument having white stone has been shifted to the END OF TOWN NEAR CANTOMENT BORDER in the form of large stone explaining its past legends.
The population of thiriya nizawat khan is mainly Muslims that too BHATI khanzada, a rajput clan in Muslims. there is another story of calling the pathans bhatti. it is said that once a lady from dhobi cast had an affair with the nawab of khargaouna a village where the parade ground of jat regiment centre is there right now. she became pregnant and gave birth to illegimative child of the nawab of khargaouna. the relatives of the lady were behind her soul, she escaped and gave a birth to a child. but when the family members came to know about the child she put the child in a bhatti(a kind of oven)and in this way she saved her child. the descent of the child were popularly called as bhati pathans. as he was a son of nawab he was given the title of khan. in this way the race of bhatti pathans came into existence.
