Third Place is a French-Canadian pop punk band from Rawdon, Quebec. Third Place burst onto the music scene in February 2006, during the International Emergenza battle of the bands competition. Members are Nick Mayer, (lead vocals), Francis Rainville (lead guitar, backing vocals), Corey Parkinson (bass guitar, backing vocals) and Vincent Cotê (drums and percussion). They have released an unofficial, self-produced album "Keep Your Dream Alive"(2008), but their first official album, "LifeLand"(2010), co- produced with Glen Robinson and mastered by Brian Gardner at Bernie Grundman Mastering LA.

History

Third Place’s success lies in their incredible stage presence offering an electrifying performance everywhere it goes. Their explosive presentations earned them an invitation to perform at the 2008 edition of the Montreal DJ Awards, at the renowned Bains Mathieu. In 2009, the band’s steadily increasing popularity resulted in an invitation to provide the musical entertainment at the Canadian finals of the international Miss Hawaiian Tropics beauty pageant. They were also invited to perform at Bombe.TV’s first anniversary gala at Montreal’s Club Soda.The band’s energetic performances are now in demand among club and music hall owners across Quebec and beyond.

In their hundreds of live performances since 2006, Third Place has enjoyed the privilege of sharing the stage with some of the biggest names in the Quebec music and entertainment industry, including Martin Deschamps, Kamakazi, Sans Pression, L'Assemblée, Les Denis Drolet, Marie-Mai, Les Porn Flakes, Dj Shortcut, and the USA’s Shinedown, among others.

Keep Your Dream Alive (2008)

In response to popular demand, Third Place released this unofficial, self-produced album in June 28, 2008. The circulation of the album resulted in the rapid growth of the band’s fan-base.

Lifeland (2010)

Their first official album, "LifeLand", co- produced with Glen Robinson and mastered by Brian Gardner at Bernie Grundman Mastering L.A., was released in November 2010. There are currently over 3000 copies of the album in circulation, and the album is distributed by Tunecore on sites such as iTunes and Amazon.ca. The release of their first official single, "Look at Me Now", hit number 66 on Quebec’s L’ADISQ English Effervescence Top 100, and hit position 37 on Musique Plus’ English Top 40 and is now in rotation at Much Loud. "Lifeland" will be in stores across Canada as of May 1 including bonus tracks.

Awards

Encouraged by their admirers, Third Place moved on to win both the 2008 and 2009 editions of the annual Rawdon Rock Contest. Being declared favourite band by a voting audience in 2009 made the victory especially enjoyable.
