Willian Thiego de Jesus (born 22 July 1986 in Aracajú) or simply Thiego, is a Brazilian central defender who plays for Khazar Lankaran in the Azerbaijan Premier League.

Career

Sergipe

Willian Thiego started his career as a defender, playing for his hometown club Sergipe, and catch the eye of a Grêmio scout.

Grêmio

Thiego joined Grêmio in 2006, playing for the youth team. In 2007, he was promoted to the first squad and feature in both Campeonato Gaúcho and Campeonato Brasileiro in this year.

On June 14, 2008, he scored his first league goal, a powerful close-range shot, in a 3-0 away win against Goiás.[1]

Khazar Lankaran

On 27 January 2014, Thiego signed an 18-month contract with Khazar Lankaran in the Azerbaijan Premier League.[2]
