"They Killed Him" is a song written by Kris Kristofferson for his 1985 album Repossessed.
It is a tribute to his martyred personal heroes, Martin Luther King, Jr., Mohandas Gandhi, and Jesus Christ. The song was covered a year later by Bob Dylan for his 1986 album Knocked Out Loaded.
