THePETEBOX is a live looping human beatbox artist from the UK. He was crowned the Radio 1 beatbox champion in 2005. [citation needed]

Biography

THePETEBOX is a human beatboxer and live looper from the UK. He is known throughout the world as an innovator of using a loop pedal to create songs using his vocal and beatboxing ability. He was first brought to the attention of the beatbox world after winning the 2005 BBC Radio 1 Beatbox Championships. He then established himself further as an artist in 2007 when he was named as a winner of the years Channel 4 Talent Awards.

Not only is THePETEBOX an established and accomplished live performer, he is known for taking his show further than that of a typical beatbox set. His live show is more that of a full bands and sees him creating fully crafted songs as well as demonstrating his world class beatbox skills. Creating each layer of his tracks live using a loop pedal THePETEBOX's shows lead the audience through a journey of real time music production which builds up and delivers a full frequency spectrum of sound, from deep bass, to high pitched trumpets, to multiple vocal harmonie. THePETEBOX has toured his cutting edge show around the UK, Africa, France, Norway, Czech Republic, and appeared at Isle of Wight, Bestival, V, Leeds, Reading, Latitude, Creamfields and Glastonbury festivals.

In 2007 THePETEBOX became the face of Mexican telecom when he featured in a TV advert for Movistar mobile phones. Watch advert here The advert aired in March 2007 in Mexico and will be shown in Panama and Guatemala later in the year.

THePETEBOX is also a member of the bands Swimming and WeShowUpOnRadar

THePETEBOX appeared in the UK and US television coverage of the 2009 World Free Running Championships on August 15.

Other TV appearances include ITV's Skillicious in 2009, showcasing and teaching his skills and ITV's Odd One In in 2010.

THePETEBOX releases his debut album 'Future Loops' on the 11th April 2012. It is a live, studio album - each track is performed, mixed, effected and recorded live in a studio environment to a stereo mix. This process is filmed, creating a live performance video of the recordings themselves.

Each video will be released on YouTube. With each video release the audio mp3 download will be made available to purchase as a single. At the release of the last video, the full physical album will be released as a CD/DVD package as well as the digital audio and video download options.

The CD will contain bonus tracks and the DVD will contain extra material including a documentary on the record making process.
