The Undateables is a British reality television series about disability and dating.

The show began airing in 2012, with its third series airing in January 2014. It is currently shown on Channel 4 and narrated by Sally Phillips. The series follows single people with disabilities who sign up to a dating agency in order to find a partner.

Series 1

Episode 1

Richard is an amateur radio enthusiast who has Asperger's syndrome and lives in Twickenham. He will only date women who live within a five-mile radius of him. His first date in the show is quiet, shy and sensitive. They meet in pub: she orders food; he does not. She walks out when he eats off her plate. His next date likes him and wants a second date with him; he refuses because he is not attracted to her.

Luke is a 23 year old stand-up comedian who has Tourette syndrome with vocal tics, including frequent swearing.

Penny, 23, is three feet three inches tall, is a wheelchair user and has brittle bones.

Shaine is a 31 year old from Bournemouth is an amateur poet who has a learning disability.

Justin is from the Midlands and is severely disfigured by external tumours caused by Neurofibromatosis type I.

Carolyne Underwood, 29, is paralysed from the chest down since a weak blood vessel in her spinal cord burst whilst sleeping in January 2007. She previously appeared on another Reality TV series Dancing on Wheels (2010).

The three participants in this episode all have significant facial abnormalities due to their medical conditions.

Sam is a 27 year old man from Kent who has Down syndrome and has never been on a date. He has appeared as an extra in The Inbetweeners and EastEnders.

Hadyn is a 24 year old man with Crouzon syndrome.

Kali is an extroverted 20 year old woman from south London. She is a singer and has Williams syndrome.

Episode 4

The Undateables – Series One Revisited

This episode revisits Richard, an amateur radio enthusiast with Asperger's, and comedian Luke, who has Tourette's.

There's also 32-year-old Shaine from Bournemouth who is a prolific amateur poet with a learning disability and has written over 3000 love poems, some for complete strangers.

Carolyne Underwood, from the first series, appears briefly in this episode to tell how she found love on a dating website after appearing in the first show.

Sam who is from Kent, is a media student and actor with Down's syndrome who's appeared in The Inbetweeners and EastEnders. Last year, having never been on a date before, Sam fell in love with 28-year-old Jolene and, seven months on, the romance is still going strong. near to the end of the episode viewers found out that Jolene and Sam had split up, and that she wants just to be friends with him because of the living distances between them.

Heather, 38, has severe OCD and also has Asperger's, making things such as eye-contact very hard for her.

Gareth, 28, has Osteogenesis imperfecta (OI) which makes his bones extremely brittle and has broken his legs more than 150 times in his life.

Matthew, 20, has autism and is a student at a college in Milton Keynes.
