The Paracast is a radio talk show and podcast discussing topics related to the paranormal. The show is hosted by American technology journalist and writer Gene Steinberg and features discussions with various figures involved in the paranormal field. Shows are recorded on a weekly basis. The hosts like to refer to the show as "The Gold Standard of Paranormal Radio."

History

The Paracast was created and co-hosted by Gene Steinberg and David Biedny with the first episode broadcast February 2006. Shows were initially streamed live online and also aired on KLAV radio station from 2006 until early 2007. Recorded shows have always been available for download online. February 2010 saw the departure of Biedny from the position of co-host.

Steinberg continued to host the show with a lineup of co-hosts that include filmmaker Paul Kimball, authors Greg Bishop, Christopher O'Brien and Nick Redfern. In February 2011 O'Brien became the official co-host although Steinberg is the only host mentioned during the lead in to the show.

The Paracast has a message board that covers all the paranormal phenomena with a predilection for the UFO phenomenon and related mysteries. With over 160,000 messages, the forum is a place where people can go to read paranormal topics.[1]

The Paracast has aired over 300 shows that have included notable guests in the paranormal field including: Roswell researcher Stanton Friedman,[2] owner of UFO magazine and star of Discovery Channel's UFO Hunters William Birnes,[3] late paranormal blogger Mac Tonnies,[4] ufologist Dr. Jacques Vallée,[5] historian Richard Dolan,[6] and leader of the Disclosure Project Steven Greer.[7] Most of the more notable guest came before the departure of Biedny, but the show continues to attract many generally well respected guests.[8]

In July, 2010, The Paracast became nationally syndicated in the U.S. via the GCN radio network.[9] The show is also available online for a worldwide audience.
