The Grumbleweeds

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Grumbleweeds are an award winning British comedy band, performing music and comedy. They were mostly popular on radio and television in the 1980s, including The Grumbleweeds Radio Show which ran from 1979 to 1988 on BBC Radio 2.[1]

The band formed in 1962 in Leeds and they turned professional following success on the television talent show Opportunity Knocks.[1]

In 1975 MFP (Music for Pleasure) issued an LP by the Grumblweeds entitled "Worravagorrinmepocket" (What Have I Got in My Pocket), a compilation of sketches, voices and songs all original and previously unrecorded. The album is very difintive of what the Weeds are all about bringing music and comedy to all ages. The record was conceived, written, arranged and produced by The Grumbleweeds in 1971.[2]
